The Vega Verde project of the C.E.C.E. Cayey entity was established with the objective of encouraging agricultural production to create jobs and improve nutrition and health of the population of the Vegas community in Cayey. Other goals of the program include: supplying food to the community commercial kitchen, educating residents on agricultural techniques and food security, and encouraging planting in neighborhood patios and roofs.
