The project provides marginalized communities with access to theoretical and practical education aimed at sustainable development, sowing and efficient use of resources for mitigation and adaptation of climate change effects, making them less vulnerable to it and facilitating that they can break out of the poverty cycle. In addition, it promotes ecological empowerment through participatory planning and management, and ensures the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of ecosystems through environmental education, reforestation and research initiatives with field experiences in the Ciénaga las Cucharillas Natural Reserve that are integrated into the curriculum of students from public schools in Cataño and Guaynabo Norte.
